3D-SEISMIC INTERPRETATION OF ASUOKPU/UMUTU FIELD
After two years of production from Umutu-2 and Umutu-4 wells in Umutu field, Platform Petroleum Limited has embarked on full field re-evaluation study with a view to understanding the field better, identifying drillable prospects to increase the reserve and ensure optimum recovery from the asset. Key deliverables from this study will include an update on the earlier evaluation that will be base, this time on the new 3D-seismic data recently reprocessed by CGG Veritas. The full field study was awarded to Horizon Energy Partners (HEP) based in Abuja, Nigeria and the study is being closely supervised by Geologist and Petroleum Engineers from Platform Petroleum limited.

The project was divided into three (3) phases
Phase-1: Seismic interpretation and Petrophysical evaluation
Phase-2: Geological modelling
Phase-3: Dynamic modelling

The first phase of the project (Seismic interpretation and Petrophysical evaluation) is completed and was quality checked with the in-house interpretation done by Platform geologists using the new 3D-seismic data. The phase-2 (Geological modelling) is progressing with structural modelling already completed while the facie and petrophysical modelling will follow thereafter. Phase-3 will be completed by Q4 2009.
