Installation is now in top gear for the 5th Batch of consignment of Gas Plant equipment that was recently delivered to the plant site, at Umutu, Delta State by World Wide Equipment and Logistics Ltd (WELL). The list of delivered equipment include Inlet compressors, Surges tanks, Pipings, Valves, etc were freighted from Houston, USA through Onne port, River State.
The contracts for the Design, fabrication and supply of the 30MMscf Gas plant was awarded in April 2008 to a U.S based Engineering firm, Speciality Process Equipment Corporation (SPEC). This is part of PPL’s Gas Utilization Programme that will ultimately ensure full compliance to the Nigeria government’s ZERO flare policy.
Meanwhile, the installation phase of the project continues at the construction site with a 95% and 35% completion recorded already for civil and mechanical works respectively. At full capacity, the expected plant yield is 1236bpd LPG, 600 bpd condensate, 425 bpd excess propane and 25 MMcsf/d of lean gas. The LPG will be sold wholly to the Nigerian market while the condensate will be spiked back to the existing Crude oil tanks and the lean gas sold to a third party. The plant is expected to be commissioned before the end of the 2009. |
