It was a bright Tuesday morning and the time was 9am in all parts of Nigeria. All staff members at work filed in one by one into the MD’s office and the door was quietly shut after the last person entered.

The office was quiet, eyes wide opened steering at the closed door, awaiting the much expected arrival of our MD. Suddenly the door flew open and lo, it was him.

Astonished he asked, "assuming I came to work by 2pm, would you all have waited for me?" The word "yes" filled the air as the staff members jointly chorused their answer. He was welcome by the sight of good looking staff, beautiful cakes and birthday cards.

The birthday song filled the office after which the Technical Manager congratulated him on behalf of the entire staff of the company on his birthday and appreciated him for being a visionary leader, who has positively led Platform Petroleum to her present enviable position among the league of Nigerian indigenous oil companies. He prayed God for long life and wisdom for the MD as he celebrates his 51st birthday.  

Staff members had a group photograph with the Managing Director.
